After a difficult year for us, we looked for a deluxe self-catering holiday, in France, by the Loire where we hoped to have better weather plus many interesting places to visit. We browsed the Internet and happened upon La Charpenterie, where the web information was excellent to read - very professional and informative. It ticked every box in our minds so we booked a vacant slot and set-off hoping it would live up to expectations. As is well known by everyone who has stayed here, we were not to be disappointed, in fact our expectations were exceeded by not only the kindness of M&R, but also the high standards they have set and maintain for the wellbeing of their enterprise. Others have given their thoughts on the local attractions etc., and we would not disagree. Suffice to say this gem of an oasis is a true find and we are sure will continue to give pleasure to all who come here in the future. This place is just a dream! Lovely area, quiet, peaceful and scenic also. We have really enjoyed our week and made the best of time between sunbathing & visiting local attractions. When we first walked into The Pool House, we thought it was fantastic, but as the two weeks progressed, we were continually astounded at the attention to detail that kept evolving. It has been lovely to come back so soon after our first visit at the end of May. Market at Thouars and the Abbey at Fontevraud where highlights this time. We hope to return and introduce more of our family to this little gem of a place to stay in the Loire. Just amazed how good the weather has been for March, so surprised we were able to make use of the pool and hot-tub. Really enjoyed sampling the local restaurants and just wish we could get this quality of wine at anything like this price in the UK. We will be back to re-stock and enjoy the facilities of this superb Gite. We would both like to comment on our time we spent at The Loft, our first impressions were favourable, the standard of the accommodation was very high. The location of the whole complex was second to none and we had a very relaxing time there. As for the weather, we certainly could not complain about that, and T still has a good tan! We have travelled to France many times and this was one of the best weeks we have ever had. We will certainly be returning next year and we have already recommended you to our friends and colleagues.
